INTERCEPTOR X-9: hunting Shahed at 200 km/h

The INTERCEPTOR X-9 is a purpose-built anti-drone platform. Top speed north of 200 km/h and a climb rate that turns an altitude advantage into a lethal intercept in under 15 seconds.

Design started from the wrong end of the usual FPV process. Instead of picking motors and building a frame, we picked a target profile — Shahed-class cruise UAVs at 150–180 km/h and 1500–2500 m altitude — and worked backwards to the airframe needed to catch it.

The X-9 airframe was built around one number: closing speed. Everything else is subordinated to catching a cruise UAV mid-flight.

The result is a slim 8-inch tri-blade platform with a 5010 motor stack, an 8S2P Li-Ion pack for the acceleration phase and a proximity-fused warhead sized for a Shahed-136 airframe.

First operational kills against Shahed-136 airframes were recorded last month. The engagement profile is now standardized: ground radar cues altitude and heading, the X-9 climbs on a fast intercept vector, terminal is manual FPV.

Cost per intercept is roughly 3% of a legacy surface-to-air missile — and unlike a missile, a missed X-9 can be recovered, refurbished and flown again.

Production is capped at 40 units per week while we scale the motor supply chain. Priority goes to air-defense units on the northern and southern approaches; distribution is coordinated directly with the operational command.
